Old School Construction was founded by two building contractors in Rustenburg, originally operating under a different name. Martin Swart worked as the Operations Manager at this company. In 2014, Martin relocated to Gauteng.. Upon arrival, he immediately noticed the need for a quality contractor with old school standards. In other words, a focus on quality and productivity in the building, revamp, and home renovation sector. Consequently, Martin decided to fill the gap in the Pretoria market. He started with smaller home improvement and building projects, focusing on construction in Pretoria East and other booming areas. After that, Martin quickly started building a reputation in the region.
For the first couple of years, Martin operated under his own name but eventually decided to take the business to the next level. Subsequently, the Old School Construction brand was born.

Martin waterproofed the entire roof, changed broken tiles, and fixed a laminated beam in the house.
